AE - Amati Conservatory will feature two guest artists and a faculty member in a Virtuosi Concert Series. Cellist Min-Jeong Kang, guitarist Jonathan Trotta, and pianist Ren Zhang will perform works by Bach, Schumann, Schubert, Chopin and others, and will join the audience in a reception immediately following the performance.

Twenty-year-old Min-Jeong Kang was born in South Korea in 1984. At the age of six, she started her cello studies with Jong-Jin Hong. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience by playing with several orchestras including the Moscow Chamber orchestra, Arco, Seoul Pops Orchestra and New Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Min-Jeong won First Prize in Associated Music Teachers league of New York in 1998 and 2002. She played in Young Musician's Concert at Carnegie Hall in 2000 and on the radio show "From The Top" in 2001.

Pianist Ren Zhang, who is dedicated to reviving and performing music in the grand romantic tradition, has burst upon the international concert scene, and has established himself to be one of the most unique pianists of his time. Born in Shanghai, Ren Zhang began his piano studies at the age of four. At twelve, he entered the Shanghai Conservatory of Music where he studied for six years. After winning several prestigious competitions in China, he continued his studies in New York where he was a full scholarship student of Solomon Mikowsky and the recipient of the Elva Van Gelder Memorial Award.

Amati Conservatory’s Virtuosi Concert Series brings acclaimed artists throughout the year to the Northern New Jersey community. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens. For tickets and reservations, call 201-568-9060.
